Thanks to grants from the Boeing Employees Fund, T. Boone Pickens, and the Harris Foundation, children with autism spectrum disorders participating in our program now receive one-on-one therapy sessions and carryover activities in Special Care's classrooms. The grant from T. Boone Pickens makes it possible for children and families to receive ABEL services at no additional charge. Initiated in December 2006, the lab has already benefited children in remarkable ways. First words, increased eye contact, improved self-esteem, and appropriate social interaction carried over from the lab into the classroom are just a few of the achievements.
