News at Special Care
Special Care owes a huge thank you to Edmond Santa Fe High School for selecting us as their beneficiary for Double Wolf Dare Week 2008 (February 14th - 21st). The students worked incredibly hard, organizing and leading events such as a silent auction and dinner, a carnival and car show, a raffle, dance, arena football game, music concert, and dodge ball game.
These events combined with the students' individual fundraising efforts raised $123,000, all of which is donated to support Special Care programs. The students' efforts also culminated in a new partnership between General Electric, Hunzicker Lighting Gallery, and Special Care--a year-long project which will include making Special Care's facility lighting more appealing and energy-efficient. An Edmond Santa Fe High School science class will track Special Care's energy expenditures over the next year and partner with General Electric and Hunzicker Lighting to make positive changes.
Thank you Edmond Santa Fe High School students, teachers, administrators, and families. The slogan for the week was "Out of This World: Zero Gravity-Zero Limits, Light-years of Possibilities," and your contribution is certainly extraordinary and will create many new possiblities for Special Care's children. Thank you!
